The mission of the Geary Community Healthcare Foundation is to raise funds for the support of healthcare programs at Geary Community Hospital and in Geary County.

Leadership

Jolana Montgomery-Matney ~ Executive Director

Jolana Montgomery-Matney joined the Geary Community Healthcare Foundation as Executive Director in 1996.  During her tenure the Healthcare Foundation has returned over seven million dollars to Junction City and the Geary County community.  Jolana was granted a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from Kansas State University.  She is active in many organizations including Junction City Rotary Club and Chapter AR of the PEO Sisterhood. Jolana and her husband, Rex are active members of the Episcopal Church of the Covenant. In her spare time, Jolana enjoys gardening, decorating, golf occasionally, and collecting Southwest art.

Sharolyn Adams ~ Administrative Assistant

Sharolyn Adams joined the Geary Community Healthcare Foundation in January, 2015.  She is a graduate of Chapman High School and Manhattan Area Technical School.  Sharolyn and her husband Jerry recently moved their farming operation from Mitchell County to Dickinson County to be closer to Kansas State, family and friends.  They attend Zion Brethren in Christ Church near Abilene.  Sharolyn has volunteered in the Kansas State University football press box since 1989.  In her spare time Sharolyn enjoys family activities, attending Kansas State men’s basketball and football games, gardening and spending time on their farm with their cats, dog, miniature ponies & donkeys and cattle.

Jill Nelson ~ GCHF Director of Development and Delivering Change Program Coordinator

Jill (Volland) Nelson, a native of Junction City and graduate of Junction City High School, joined the Geary Community Healthcare Foundation in October, 2011.  Jill holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Theatre from Kansas State University.  She and husband David, a firefighter/EMT with the Junction City Fire Department, are parents to Kael, Emmalynne, the late Luke, and David’s daughter, Isabelle.  As a SIDS parent, Jill holds a deep passion and interest in improving the health of mothers and infants in Geary County.  In her spare time Jill enjoys performing, reading, hiking and playing with her kids.

 

Shirley Robinson ~ Lead OB Navigator

Shirley Robinson is from Jefferson, South Dakota but grew up just outside of Atlanta, Georgia.  She started working for Delivering Change:  Healthy Moms - Healthy Babies in September, 2014 as the first OB Navigator in Kansas. Shirley graduated from Kansas State University in May, 2014 with a Bachelor’s degree in Family Studies and Human Services with a minor in American Ethnic Studies.  Shirley was an intern with Delivering Change, and that is how she found her passion to better the health of mothers and babies.  She was ecstatic to be offered the job as the OB Navigator and come back to Geary County to connect our mothers to helpful resources in the community. Mattie Kay Stewart - OB Navigator

Mattie Kay Stewart is a Licensed Masters Social Worker in the State of Kansas and is one of two OB Navigators working for Delivering Change:  Healthy Moms - Healthy Babies.  She was born and raised in Junction City and has returned home to the community after earning her Master’s Degree from Washburn University. Mattie Kay has a background working as a social work intern with Home Health and Hospice of Geary County and as a social worker with USD 475 Geary County Schools.  Mattie Kay was honored to accept the role of OB Navigator in the spring of 2016 and continue her journey of giving back to her community.  You may contact her at Delivering Change or at Flint Hills OB/GYN.

 

 

Ashley (Powers) King - Delivering Change Administrative Assistant and Director of Marketing

Ashley (Powers) King is a native of Junction City and graduate of Junction City High School.  Ashley holds a degree in Business Management/Marketing from Bryan College. Ashley and her husband, Andrew, a realtor for Remax Signature Properties, are parents to Mallory. Ashley is passionate about the health and wellness of women in Geary County and is honored to be working with such a wonderful organization that gives back to her hometown community. In her spare time, Ashley enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Shanea Bea - Teen Pregnancy Targeted Case Manager

Shanea Bea grew up in Topeka and graduated from Kansas State University in May 2009 with a Bachelor’s degree in Family Studies and Human Services.  Her husband Matthew and Shanea are parents to Savannah and Maddox.  Shanea started working for Delivering Change:  Healthy Moms, Healthy Babies in February 2017 as the Teen Pregnancy Targeted Case Manager, where she works with pregnant and postpartum teens up to the age of 21.  It is Shanea’s goal to ensure that all pregnant and parenting teens have access to services and programs in the Geary County community and are able to increase their self-sufficiency and education, and achieve their goals related to their own futures and those of their children.
